Shuto Con 2012 Masquerade Ball and Dinner Buffet
Our Masquerade Ball will be a special formal occasion that will require formal dress (suits/dresses) and/or formal cosplay attire (dressy versions of cosplay outfits), and masks. If you do not have a mask, we will offer a small workshop panel that will allow you to make a mask (this will have limited seating) and we will also be selling handmade masks before the ball. To add to our formal theme, we will be playing classical dance/waltz music (we hope to have a live string band) and will have a dance floor. We hope to have a Waltz panel on Friday afternoon before the Masquerade Ball to help you learn some basic dancing moves. Admission to the Masquerade Ball is $20.00 (plus Eventbrite fees) and includes access to our Dinner Buffet. Our Dinner Buffet includes*: Fruit Salad, Fresh Caesar Salad with Creamy Caesar Dressing and Parmesan Croutons, Breast of Chicken with a Grain-Mustard Sauce, Roast Pork Loin, Fresh Steamed Seasonal Vegetables, Red Skin Potatoes, Rolls and Butter,Freshly Brewed Starbucks Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and a Selection of Bigelow Teas *This selection may be subject to change depending on the availability of seasonal dishes and special requests. Lastly, with your admission you will receive a special edition Masquerade Ball badge that will grant you in and out access to the event. This event will take place Friday night 7pm -10pm and seating will be limited to 300 attendees. You must have a Shuto Con badge to attend (1 Day Friday, 2 Day Friday and Saturday, 3 Day, VIP, Artist Alley, Dealers Alley and/or Volunteer badges accepted).

Event Details

Shuto Con is Lansing's Annual Anime Convention, coming to the Lansing Center March 16th-18th, 2012. This convention will be a three day event held in Lansing, MI that focuses on Artists and the art of Interactive Cosplaying!

 

Thanks to the overwhelming support of everyone in 2011, this year we are twice as big, twice as loud, and twice as strong!  Starting Friday morning at the Lansing Center and Radisson Lansing our convention will run from 9AM until 6PM Sunday afternoon. We plan on having thee panel rooms, over 30 unique artists, several dealers to get your latest anime swag from, thee anime and two video game viewing rooms open during the entire convention, a table top gaming room, special guests, and much more!

 

Shuto Con also hopes to give you a truly unique experience by participating in our “Interactive Cosplay” experience. We highly encourage ALL our attendees to dress up as their favorite characters and act like them during the convention. A mock battle arena will be staged where you can “fight” it out with other cosplayers, or even take “bets” on who will win! Special points will be given out to those that participate the most, and at Closing Ceremonies on Sunday afternoon we will announce the Shuto Con “King and Queen of Cosplayers”! If you do not wish to participate, but would still like to capture those fond memories, we ask that your bring your cameras and/or video recorders and witness a viral hit in the making!
